All in a Day By Michaela Whitney
Rising with the dawn.
Four hours caught between time and space and finding the password to escape it.
Which then lead me to coffee shops and clove cigarettes and what have you
Only to then put on the guise of the modern alchemist, mixing jars of powders into solid pliable potions.
Back past the coffee shop - clove cigarettes to the land of eden and back again.
Up the winding stairs as I wave to familiar faces, to the room of soul stealers.
Out and home again when I was freed.
Boxed Unicorns by Michaela Whitney
The lack of propriety about the pink elephants was evident
Playing with your own hair, staring at your feet
Duties shirked upon the floor
Heaps of molten feathersÂ
Argyle socks in every direction
My unraveling sweater
The unicorns hitting the boxed wine
One can no longer decipher the sound of heels and hoovesÂ
Click, clacks echo in your head
You sway from the lights above
Rising from your trail of feathers
The flash of fur and gold lame overtakes you
You lose your last thought to the snake that grabbed your ankle
